2001 Annual Seminar

March 2-4, 2001

Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego, California

The Financial Lawyers Conference conducted its Annual Seminar at the Rancho Bernardo Inn on March 2-4, 2001.

The Seminar Moderator was Professor James White of the School of Law at the University of Michigan.  Professor White is the author of the leading treatise on the Uniform Commercial Code and numerous books and articles on Article 9 and commercial law.  Joining Professor White was Larry Engel, Esq. who was co-moderator for the Sunday session.

The Seminar was attended by 60 members of the Financial Lawyers Conference including two law professors.  Twelve hours of discussion focused on advanced principles of revised Article 9 and on lending to high-technology companies.  The Seminar was highlighted by lively discussions on some of the unanswered questions under revised Article 9 and on the interpretation of Sections 363 and 365 of the Bankruptcy Code in relation to licensing arrangements in the high-technology area.

The Seminar and Rancho Bernardo Inn were enjoyed by everyone highlighted by excellent food, good drink and strong camaraderie.
