Join us for lunch with "masters" from the fields of commercial finance and bankruptcy.  This unique program offers new lawyers a priceless opportunity to interact with two highly respected lawyers in Los Angeles in an intimate and informal setting.  Come and hear the reminiscences, wisdom and perspectives of this distinguished panel.  You simply can't afford to miss this opportunity!

Speakers:
John Hilson, the Chair of Paul Hastings' Finance and Restructuring Group, is one of our nation's foremost banking laywers.  He has developed substantial expertise in cross-border international transactions, specialized secured facilities, debtor-in-possession and plan of reorganization financings, and problem loan workouts and restructurings.  He authors the treatise "Asset-Based Lending - A Practical Guide to Secured Financing" published by the Practising Law Institute and has authored numerous other articles and lectures widely.  John is active in professional associations including The American Law Institute, the American College of Commercial Finance Attorneys, the Financial Lawyers Conference and the Commercial Law Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.  His numerous honors include listings in Chambers USA, Euromoney, Global Counsel 3000, Who's Who Legal and Southern California's 100 Super Lawyers.  John received his B.A., magna cum laude from Boston University in 1973 and his J. D. from University of Colorado Law School in 1976.


Bob White, the founder of the Finance & Restructuring Practice of O'Melveny & Myers, has been involved in some of the largest Chapter 11 reorganization cases in the retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, energy, entertainment, healthcare, grocery and insurance related industries, and has served as lead counsel in numerous out of court restructurings.  During his distinguished career, he has been active in bar organizations including the American College of Bankruptcy, the National Bankruptcy Conference, the Financial Lawyers Conference, Los Angeles County Bar Association's Section of Commercial Law & Bankruptcy, the American Bar Association and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.  He is also the co-author of "Advanced Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Practice."  His numerous honors include listings in the Best Lawyers in America (since initial publication), Chamber's USA Guide to the World's Leading Insolvency Lawyers, and Southern California's 100  Super Lawyers.  Bob is a graduate of Michigan Law School (1972, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif) and University of Illinois (1968).

Registration Requirements:
Timely registration is a must as the program will be limited to the first twenty qualified registrants.  Qualified registrants shall be members of the following organizations as of the date of this registration: (i) Los Angeles County Bar's Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section, (ii) the Financial Lawyers Conference and (iii) the Barristers.  Membership to the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section requires membership to the Los Angeles County Bar Association ("LACBA") and payment of an additional $35 annual due.  Membership to the Financial Lawyers Conference requires payment of a $75 annual due.  Note that you are automatically a member of the Barristers, without any additional fee, if you are a member of LACBA and are either 36 years of age or younger or have been admitted to practice for 10 years or less.
